Her eyes flittered open as she stared around at the strange walls she was enclosed in. Her head throbbed as she looked to the side to examine her prison cell. Every heartbeat drummed in her head, increasing the pain the engulfed her body with every beat.
No one would hear her scream.
Her arms felt heavy as she tried to sit up. Nothing. She turned her head to the side, the pain making her gasp as it pulsed through her body. Her eyes widened in fear as she noticed the black slithers of iron pinning her in position, daring her to struggle, to use up her energy trying to escape. She whined, her head protesting as she jerked violently to escape. If only she could see him once more, feel his soft lips upon hers, feel his strong hands holding her close to him....
A tear escaped her cheek, his face a clear image in her mind. Her heart lurched as she thought of how he kissed her, how his eyes danced when he gazed into hers. How he'd used her and thrown her out into the streets to fend for herself. And now here she was, alone and afraid, waiting for something to happen to put her out of the excruciating pain that consumed her.
Footsteps. Each step echoed in her head, growing louder and louder as they got closer. Maybe it was him, maybe he had realised how wrong and lonely he was, had found out where she was and come to save her, to take the pain away from her. Her heart beat faster as her eyes grew hopeful, antisipating the arrival of the stranger who approached her.
The door opened painfully slowly, emmiting a squeek that sent a shiver down her spine. The stranger was tall, clothed in a long, black leather jacket and wearing a hat which covered his eyes. He limped slightly as he came towards her, and a familiar smell greeted her nose. She knew that smell. She knew that walk. It was him! her eyes lit up and she smiled as her eyes connected with his.
He had changed since the last time she saw him. His eyes were cold and hard, there was no fire in them like she remembered. Her smile faded. She longed to touch him, to show him she still loved him, for him to accept her again. He leaned over her, looking deep into her eyes. She caught her breath, antiscipating his next move. Slowly, he moved back one of the folds of the jacket, and slipped his hand into one of the inside pockets. She closed her eyes, waiting for the same hand to touch her skin.
But no such feeling came. Just a pain that took all breath from her body and thoughts from her mind. Her eyes clouded red, before fluttering delecately closed as her last breath left her body
"I love you."
Her head drooped, and her heart beat no more. He dropped to his knees, her heart resting upon her sleeve, and he began to weep.
